"Gracie and Ashten"
11 x 14"
oil on gessoed hardboard
This painting was done for some friends of ours, who had this wonderful picture of their children holding hands on the beach. It was so fun to paint and I loved being able to capture this timeless moment.

"Cafe in the Rain"
"Bottled Orchids"
12 x 12"
oil on gallery wrapped canvas
This painting was a true joy to do. I had fun attempting to create the effect of raised letters on the glass bottle and I love the way that the colors all compliment each other. This is one of my favorites, done on 12 x 12" gallery wrapped canvas with 1 and 1/4" painted black sides. This painting is varnished and ready to hang.

"Welcome Home"
12 x 24"
acrylic on stretched canvas
In this painting I experimented with crackle medium. I felt that the affect came out just as I wanted it to, charming and aged. It was different to paint the background for the crackle finish and then the actual painting on top but I found the medium to be something that I will use in my future paintings. I have previously "scratched" out by hand the cracks using sharp objects such as paper clips or edging knives. This technique was much easier.

"Amor Fleurs"
48 x 27"
acrylic on stretched canvas
This still life has a certain country charm and warmth from the candles that would add character to any decor. The paint on the wood and other surfaces appears to be crackling and all of the items in the scene have an antique appearance. The title, depicted in the aged sign, is from an old flower market in France.
"New York Rain"
"This is My Body"
30 x 24" each
oil on stretched canvas
These paintings were done shortly after I became a born again Christian. The scenes depict Jesus' last supper with his disciples where only candle light illuminates the dark upper room. The paintings contain scripture from Luke 22.
I also painted Mary who was rescued by Jesus from her accusers. She was caught in her sin and the law stated that she should be stoned to death but when Jesus saw this, He began writing on the ground and said "he that is without sin cast the first stone" and one by one the accusers left.
"You Are Mine"
"Truth"
"Pals"
"Guiding Light"
"Sunset After the Rain"
I did these paintings for my son, Aidan's, room. The bear stuffed animal, affectionately called "blue bear" is his favorite toy to this day and he is now 2 and 1/2 years old. He still can't go to sleep without "blue bear". I felt these paintings captured a timeless memory of a beloved childhood toy who I know see with a stitched up nose, flat as a pancake and a dusty light blue. What a memory.
47 x 24"
oil on stretched canvas
This was one of my first attempts at a very detailed large scale painting. I had always been an artist but was rediscovering my interest and gift through oil painting. This scene was put together from pictures of several houses I had photographed on California Street. The houses are all old a retain their charm and warmth from years past.
